KEA Deluxe 2 Berth HT - Terms & Conditions
Rates/Minimum Hire Periods:
* Rates are per day in NZ$ and include unlimited kilometres, Comprehensive insurance (Excess NZ$5,000) & GST (New Zealand Government Tax)
* The minimum hire period is five days. Minimum rental is extended to 10 days for the travel period from 20 December to 05 January.
Drivers/Licences
All drivers must be at least 21 years old and hold a full and current New Zealand driver's licence, or an International Driving Licence, or a New Zealand recognised licence from the country of origin (with English translation where applicable).
Traffic Laws
The hirer is liable for all fines and penalties in relation to the driver's use of the vehicle or the vehicle itself incurred during the rental period plus an administration fee of NZ$ 25 for each infringement or penalty notice that has been redirected by KEA to the hirer.

Free transfers to and from Auckland and Christchurch Airports and Airport hotels.
One way rentals
One way hires between 1 October and 31 March following, a fee of NZ$275 will apply. This is covered if All Inclusive Rates Insurance is taken out.
Standard Rates Include:
• Unlimited kilometres for all vehicle types

All Inclusive Rates cover the Standard Rates inclusions plus the following EXTRAS:
KEA's All Inclusive Package is available to travellers for NZ$55 per day premium on standard rental rates. The All Inclusive Package includes: waiver of the excess on any vehicle and third party property damage; the cost of replacing and repairing windscreens and tyres; and the cost of overhead and underbody damage on the rented vehicle; the standard one way fee on all rentals; camping table, chairs(s) and beach umbrella, baby or booster seat(s). A security deposit of $250.00 is payable at the time of pickup. The bond is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date in clean with no damage incurred to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property, with a full tank of fuel, the toilet cassette and waste water tank emptied and no equipment lost or damaged
Insurance
STANDARD INSURANCE:
All KEA Campers vehicles come with comprehensive insurance cover. A standard excess of $5,000.00 applies in the event of any damage to either our vehicle or third party property. The renter will also be fully liable for replacing or repairing damaged windscreens and tyres. A security bond of $5,000 will be taken on vehicle collection. The security bond can be paid by cash, traveller's cheques or credit card. Should the bond be paid by credit card the amount will be debited to your account immediately, any currency fluctuations are not the responsibility of KEA Campers. The bond is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date, with no damage incurred to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property, with a full tank of fuel, the toilet cassette and waste water tank emptied and no equipment lost or damaged.
Bond
A security bond of $5,000 is required on vehicle collection. This represents the insurance excess.The security bond can be paid by cash, traveller's cheque or credit card. Should the bond be paid by credit card the amount will be debited to your account immediately
The bond is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date in clean with no damage incurred to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property, with a full tank of fuel, the toilet cassette and waste water tank emptied and no equipment lost or damaged.
KEA Campers Excess Reduction Options
Excess Reduction 1
Excess Reduction 1 at $25.00 per day will reduce the excess for any damage to either vehicle or third party property to a maximum of $2,000.00. The renter, however, will be fully liable for demurrage - the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (max 7 days) - and for replacing or repairing damaged windscreens and tyres. The bond of $2,000.00 can be paid by cash, traveller's cheques or credit card: a manual imprint of the credit card will be taken. The bond is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date in clean condition with no damage incurred to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property, with a full tank of fuel, the toilet cassette and waste water tank emptied and no equipment lost or damaged. The total insurance charge is limited to a maximum of 50 days or $1,250.00.
Excess Reduction 2
Excess Reduction 2 at $35.00 per day will waive the excess for any vehicle and third party property damage and the cost of replacing or repairing windscreens and tyres. Overhead and underbody damage on the rented vehicle is also included. However, a security deposit of $250.00 is payable at the time of pickup to ensure that the vehicle is returned to the agreed location, on the agreed date in clean with no damage incurred to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property, with a full tank of fuel, the toilet cassette and waste water tank emptied and no equipment lost or damaged. The total insurance charge is limited to a maximum of 50 days or $1,750.00.
Hirers are advised to take out their own travel insurance to cover personal injury, medical expenses and personal property.
General Conditions
The Company reserve the right to make deductions over and above the bond for any of, or multiples of the following:
Missing or damaged equipment. The vehicle is not returned in a clean condition.
Hire vehicles operated outside the terms of the rental agreement invalidate the insurance cover and the hirer is liable for the entire cost of any damage.
Deposit
A deposit of 25% of the total hire cost is payable to secure a booking. This is calculated on 25% of the daily hire tarrif times the number of days of the hire. The full balance is required 30 days before the commencement of the hire.
The bond, optional insurances waivers and any additional equipment must be paid at the Depot at the commencement of the hire
